GSTN Advisory:
Biometric Authentication Enhancement for GST Registration :
Effective from March 3, 2025, GSTN has introduced an enhanced biometric authentication facility for certain Promoters/Directors, allowing them to complete the process at any GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) within their Home State instead of only at the jurisdictional GSK.

- Who is Eligible?
- Promoters/Directors of Public Limited, Private Limited, Unlimited, and Foreign Companies.
- New Flexibility Introduced
- Eligible individuals can now select any GSK in their Home State for biometric authentication.
- The option will be provided through an intimation email and is a one-time selection.
- Availability & Implementation
- The facility is available in 33 States/UTs where biometric authentication is enabled.
- It will be extended to Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Sikkim soon.
- Process & Exemptions
- Slot Booking: After selecting a Home-State GSK, a new slot booking link will be provided.
- Already Completed Biometric? No need to redo it.
- If Promoter/Director = Primary Authorized Signatory (PAS): This option is not available, and they must visit their jurisdictional GSK.
- Optional Feature: This facility is not mandatory; applicants can still choose their jurisdictional GSK.
This update aims to simplify the GST registration process and improve accessibility for business applicants.
