Customs:
The CBIC has issued a notification to notify The Goods Imported (Conditions of Transshipment) Regulations, 2025, further amending the original 1995 regulations. These new regulations shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
The principal amendment involves a complete substitution of Regulation 5. As per the new provision, no fees shall be charged for applications relating to the transshipment of imported goods across all customs stations in India. This move effectively abolishes the earlier practice of levying a transshipment permit fee.
