The Ministry of Finance has amended Notification No. 25/2002-Customs dated 1 March 2002, which provides concessional customs duty on specified goods required for the manufacture of designated products. The amendment substitutes Serial Nos. 69 and 69A to expand the list of eligible capital goods and machinery used in the manufacture of Lithium-Ion Cells, covering various equipment for electrode preparation, cell assembly, welding, testing, formation, inspection and related manufacturing processes. This amendment aims to facilitate domestic manufacturing of Lithium-Ion Cells by extending the concessional customs duty benefit to a wider range of manufacturing equipment.
