Notification No. Effect of the notification
Instruction No. 04/2024- Customs Dated 07th March 2024 In relation to restriction on Import of Premium Frozen Duck Meat into India, instruction is issued to :
a. All Principal Chief Commissioners/ Chief Commissioners (Customs/Customs(Preventive)/Customs & Central Tax)

b. All Principal Commissioners/ Commissioners of Customs/Customs(Preventive)

c. All Pr. Director/Director Generals under CBIC

for sensitizing the officers under their jurisdictions.

Circular No.2/2024-Customs dated 08th March 2024 On the event of International Women’s Day, CBIC has insisted that the Chief Commissioners/Commissioners shall henceforth:

  1. Ensure representation of women in the Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) and Customs Clearance Facility Committee (CCFC) meetings.
  2. Ensure inclusion of at least one agenda point from Women’s perspective.
  3. Encourage the Trade bodies/ custodians to establish dedicated help desks and processing mechanisms for women traders and women logistics service providers.
  4. Support in upskilling women logistics service providers, freight forwarders and custom brokers by offering relevant trainings for women.
Notification No. 13/2024 Customs Tariff dated 06th March 2024 New entry no. at S.No. 3AB is inserted for HSN 0207 42 00 and 0207 45 00 under notification 50/2017 Customs dated 30th June 2017, setting Basic Custom Duty @ 5%. Along with it, new conditions inserted at Sr. No. 116, for importing Meat and edible offal, of ducks, frozen falling under HSN 0207 42 00 and 0207 45 00. According to these conditions, at the time of import of importer has to furnish:

  1. A certificate issued by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying,  that  the imported goods are meat and edible offal, of ducks, frozen (other than backs of ducks,  frozen),  satisfying  the parameters specified in the Annex to the said O.M, to the Deputy Commissioner of Customs or the Assistant Commissioner of Customs,

AND

  1. A certificate issued by :
    1. An officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Tourism recommending that the importer is a 3-Star and above operational hotel as per notification issued by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, as amended, OR
    2. a valid restricted import authorisation issued under DGFT notification   No.   66/2023,   dated   06thMarch,   2024,   as amended”
